IRA TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY REMINDER

Clay Township 911

Chief Koach of the Clay Township Police Department would like to remind the residents of Clay and Ira Township of the following programs offered by our police Department.

  • Our office is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a citizen of Clay or Ira, you may request a copy of a police report, apply for a gun purchase permit or register a handgun. We also provide finger printing.

  • Got Drugs? Turn in your unused or expired medication for safe disposal at the Clay Township Police Department (Please remove the prescription drugs from their original containers and place the contents in a clear plastic zip lock bag. We will not accept any needles or liquids)

  • Operation Safe Zone: Our Police Department would like to remind the residents of the initiative to help citizens reduce on-line fraud such as purchases from Craigslist. This is where individuals can come to the Clay Township Police Department lobby to finish their exchange of merchandise and money and feel safe doing so. (There are no weapons allowed to be purchased or sold in the building. The Police Department will not participate in exchanges but we offer a safe haven for the citizens to conduct the transaction.)

  • Security and Welfare Checks/Property Checks: Going away for a weekend or an extended stay? Contact the Clay Township Police Department and request a property check while you’re gone.

  • Traffic Enforcement to help educate our drivers and keep our community safe.

  • Investigate Citizen Complaints – Our Officers and the Detectives Bureau work hard to assist our citizens with any complaint ranging from the smallest issue to major incidents.

  • Chief Koach has an open door policy. Please feel free to call or stop by anytime.

The Clay Township Police Department is located at 4710 Pte. Tremble Road, Clay, MI 48001, (810)794-9381.
