JOB OPENING FOR WATER TREATMENT PLANT. The Ira Township Water Department is seeking to fill the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator. The qualified candidate must possess a minimum Michigan EGLE Water Treatment F4 certification or the ability to obtain within 18 months of hire. The applicant should also possess the following skills associated with Water Treatment Plant operations, but not limited to:
- Knowledge of equipment operation & maintenance
- Knowledge of grounds & facility maintenance
- Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Ability to operate small/medium duty equipment
- Familiar with water treatment plant general process operations
- Ability to operate safely and use accurately scientific methods to perform laboratory testing for MDEQ compliance
- Basic computer skills knowledge of SCADA and PLC a plus
Education: Qualified candidate must be a high school graduate. College education preferred with a strong background in math, chemistry, biology, management, and computer technologies.

Ira Township wide residential refuse pickup is provided by a private contractor Emterra Enviormental, 1606 E. Webster Road Flint, MI 48505 Telephone: 877-609-6753. Billing/payment for refuse removal is handled directly thru Emterra. Please see the attached for
Emterra Collection Information.
Refuse and recycling day is Tuesday. Please have your items at the curb by 7:00 a.m . Plastic bags can be recycled at your local grocery store. Emterra 2026 Collection Schedule
