Library History
The Ira Township Library celebrated its grand opening on April 15, 1965.
The storefront library was originally located on M-29 at the site of the former Kandler's Market.
In 1981, the library moved into the old township hall at Meldrum and Short Cut Roads.
An expansion was dedicated
on December12, 1991
We are more than books! Many of you may not have time to read.
The Ira Township Library has theatrical and educational video, music CDs, books-on-tape and DVD, & free internet access.
Our staff is waiting to help - just ask! Requests From Home
If you have internet access and an Ira Township Library card, you can request any circulating
item in the St. Clair County Library system from home.
Items will be delivered to the Ira branch and the staff will phone you to pick it up.

Celebrate Chocolate
