A Great Community
Ira Township has a population of approximately 4,970 people, per the 2020 Census, in an area covering over 20 square miles. Two towns are included in the Township, Anchorville and Fair Haven. The area called Anchorville is so named because in the 1850's and 1860's large sailing ships used to anchor here to wait out big storms on Lakes Erie and Huron.

Wi-Fi Hotspots
Hotspots are available to check out from the Ira library and all other branches. See availability and place a hold through the catalog.
- Hotspots check out for 14 days. They will be deactivated once overdue.
- Borrowers must be 18 or over to check out a hotspot and are responsible for Internet use of minors.
- Hotspots will be limited to one per address.
- Overdue fees are $1.00 per day.
- They must be returned to a circulation desk. Returning to a drop box will result in a $5.00 fee.
- Hotspot service is reliant on T-Mobile cell towers, which may not cover all areas of St. Clair County.
- Hotspots should remain in a temperature-controlled environment. Please do not leave in your car.
