Saturday Clerk’s Office Hours

The Township Clerk’s office will be open Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., for electors who wish to receive an absent voter ballot for the election or other election related assistance.

Absent Voter Ballots

Absent voter ballots for the Election will be available at the Office of the Township Clerk, 7085 Meldrum Road, Fair Haven, MI 48023,  during  regular office hours of Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., until November 3, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. Electors who have lost their absentee ballot or not yet received their ballot in the mail may submit a written request to spoil their absent voter ballot and receive a new absent voter ballot in the Clerk’s office until November 3, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

Vote by Mail

During an election season, you can request an absent voter ballot online through the Michigan Voter Information Center at mi.gov/vote.  You can also apply for an Absent Voter Ballot by completing an application before any election by contacting the Township Clerk’s office at 586-725-0263 or via e-mail at clerk@iratownship.org.  Return your application by drop box, mail (postage is pre-paid), or email to clerk@iratownship.org.

In accordance with Michigan Election Law, we can mail your ballot until 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before an election.

In addition, on the Monday prior to the Election, you can obtain an absent voter ballot in-person at the Township Office until 4:00 p.m., however, you must vote the ballot at the Township office; you are not permitted to take the ballot with you.

A voter who registers to vote on Election Day by appearing in-person at the Township Hall, with valid proof of residency, is also eligible to obtain an absent voter ballot or vote in-person at the precinct until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

There are now two options to vote by mail. Voters can complete and return an application for an Absent Voter Ballot or be added to the Permanent Ballot List to automatically receive a ballot before every election.

Permanent Ballot List

To request to be added to the Permanent Ballot List, check the box on the Application for an Absent Voter Ballot. You will automatically receive a ballot for every eligible election to your registered address. If you are going out of town, you will need to contact the Clerk’s office as ballots do not forward.

You can return your voted ballot by drop box, mail (postage is pre-paid) or in-person at the Township Hall.
